POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping Specialist will be responsible for completing various shipping related duties and administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely performance of all shipping functions. The ideal candidate will have prior shipping experience, be detail-oriented, take pride in their work, and support a positive and fun working environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Responsibilities for this role

  • Ensure all customer orders ship on time and complete
  • Ensure all daily tasks are accomplished
  • Prepare boxes and supplies to set up shipping for the day
  • Check sales orders for part and serial numbers to make sure it matches packing slips and ships out properly
  • Maintain accurate shipping records. Scan necessary paperwork to network.
  • Ensure proper packaging for all outbound shipments (Understand all special shipping Instructions as required by Customers, etc.)
  • Process shipments for all modes of transportation including LTL, parcel, air, and courier
  • Ensure all international shipments have proper paperwork (e.g. commercial invoices, packing slips, NAFTA certificates, and shipper export declarations)
  • Work closely with Customer Focus Teams and Manufacturing Floor personnel re: order processing, and invoicing to ensure all sales orders are expedited and received in the shipping department in a timely manner
  • Monitor shipping supplies and order accordingly
  • Maintain superior teamwork, effort, and attitude
  • Keep work area clean, neat and organized
  • Adhere to all shipping compliance requirements
  • Cross train to back-filling other positions/functions (i.e., receiving, packaging, material put-away, cycle counting) as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, like that of a manufacturing setting

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time, hourly position
  • Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7am – 3:30pm, but does allow for some flexibility
  • Overtime may be needed on occasion


WORK AUTHORIZATION

  • The incumbent must meet the definition of “US Person” under ITAR/EAR regulations

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Intermediate computer proficiency including general Microsoft Office skills
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience; Specifically within Shipping department preferred
  • Full comprehension of both domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Working knowledge of import, export, and customs controls and regulations
  • Experience working in an ERP / MRP environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work with cross-functional departments to achieve department and company goals


Preferred Qualifications

  • FedEx and UPS shipping experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
