Position Summary
The EHR Optimization Coordinator (EHROC) serves as the liaison between clinical operations, quality improvement, population health, and the electronic health record. This position is responsible for optimizing electronic workflows, supporting quality measure performance, enhancing documentation accuracy, and developing programs that improve patient outcomes and value-based care performance.
Description of Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate electronic workflows and population health data.
- Identify barriers to preventive care completion.
- Design and collaborate with applicable departments to implement standardized electronic workflows.
- Support quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with revision maintenance of EHR templates.
- Optimize EHR clinical decision support tools.
- Improve EHR quality measure documentation workflows.
- Support EHR risk-adjustment documentation initiatives.
- Develop provider and staff training programs on optimal population health/quality related EHR workflows.
- Collaborate with the training department and Performance Improvement Team to provide training as needed.
- Conduct EHR/EPM workflow and documentation audits.
- Support adoption of EMR/Population Health best practices.
- Improve electronic capture of quality measures.
- Support HEDIS, UDS, and payer initiatives.
- Help improve quality incentive performance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Clinical Compliance Officer and/or the CEO.

Professional & Technical Knowledge:
- RN, LPN, Health Informatics degree, or related field. Experience may be substituted for degree.
- NextGen experience highly preferred.
- Experience with population health programs.
- Employee will be expected to navigate and operate Microsoft Office suite products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of CQI principles, practices, methods and tools.
- Ability to analyze QI data and identify trends and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of clinical quality measures.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current BLS (basic life support) Certification
Communications Skills:
- Effectively and tactfully communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors of various educational, socioeconomical and cultural backgrounds.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels, as well as with other agencies and the public.
