We create experiences rooted in authenticity, exceptional service, and community pride while celebrating culture through food and genuine hospitality. If you lead with heart and passion for service, we invite you to join the Heritage family.

Why This Role Matters

Sawmill Market brings people together through food, hospitality, and a strong sense of place. We’re looking for a Kitchen Supervisor who enjoys being in the middle of service: preparing great food, guiding a team, and keeping every shift moving.

In this role, you’ll lead the daily rhythm of an assigned kitchen at Sawmill Market. You’ll work alongside the team, coach cooks, organize prep, and help ensure guests receive consistently excellent food, even when the market is at its busiest.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead kitchen setup, prep, service, and closing to keep the team organized and ready for each shift.
  • Prepare food and support stations during busy periods while maintaining recipe, presentation, and portion standards.
  • Assign work, coach team members, and help train new hires on kitchen procedures and expectations.
  • Monitor food quality and ticket flow; address issues promptly and communicate service needs with front-of-house partners.
  • Follow and reinforce food handling, sanitation, allergen awareness, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Monitor product levels, support ordering and receiving, and rotate and store ingredients properly.
  • Help control waste and food costs through accurate prep, portioning, and inventory practices.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and properly functioning work areas; report equipment or maintenance concerns.
  • Create and maintain the kitchen schedule and accurately enter scheduling information into the company’s payroll software.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including a 25% match for 401k!
  • Generous employee discounts across Heritage Hotels, restaurants, spa and retail!
  • Free employee parking!
  • Maternity and paternity leave!
  • Supportive team culture with opportunities for growth and advancement!
  • A workplace rooted in New Mexico pride and community values!

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous professional kitchen experience required.
  • Previous experience as a kitchen lead, shift lead, or supervisor preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant, food hall, or similar setting preferred.
  • Food safety certification preferred, or willingness to obtain required certification.
  • Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend for extended periods and lift up to 30+ pounds.
  • Ability to lead a kitchen team while remaining actively involved in food preparation and service.
  • Ability to follow recipes, monitor portions, and use basic inventory and cost-control practices.
