Junior Graphic Designer
Description

As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will support Homesteaders and its subsidiaries through the development and production of a variety of print and digital design assets. Your role will include executing within brand standards, templates, and creative direction, and supporting presentations, print collateral, social media, internal communications, and other marketing needs. This Graphic Designer supports the day-to-day production and administrative work of the creative functions; this includes print ordering, collateral updates, maintenance, digital management, and photo editing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute print and digital design assets within established brand standards, templates and creative direction, including brochures, social media graphics, internal communications, training and education materials and other marketing collateral.
  • Design, format and maintain presentation materials, including company templates and routine presentation requests; translate information and data into effective charts, graphs, illustrations, infographics and other visual elements; and support high-visibility executive and sales presentations under established creative direction.
  • Support print production and collateral management, including routine collateral updates, new print requests and reprints, print-ready file preparation, proofing and execution of print orders according to established specifications and direction
  • Design graphics and visual assets with a digital-first focus, adapting creative for use across digital channels and platforms while maintaining brand consistency and optimizing for the intended format and audience.
  • Edit, resize and retouch photography for print and digital use and provide support for basic in-house photography and employee headshots.
  • Leverage Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, AI-enabled tools such as Claude and other design and productivity platforms to improve creative workflows, increase efficiency and support high-quality execution
  • Collaborate with the internal leadership and team members to execute creative direction, incorporate feedback and revisions and ensure accurate, consistent and timely deliverable
  • Develop professional knowledge and creative capabilities by seeking feedback, researching design best practices and emerging technologies and taking on increasing creative and project responsibility as skills and experience develop.
Requirements
  • Minimum two-year degree in graphic or digital design. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
  • 0-1+ years of professional or internship experience in graphic design, marketing, advertising or a related field preferred.
  • Professional or personal portfolio, or 2-3 work samples demonstrating graphic design skills in lieu of portfolio required. (Please include a link to the portfolio in the resume if accessible)
  • High proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency with Canva, including the ability to work within established brand parameters and templates. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, including the ability to create, format and maintain professionally designed presentations.
  • Working knowledge of print production, including print specifications, file preparation, proofing and production requirements.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital design disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively leverage AI-enabled tools, such as Claude, to support creative workflows, increase efficiency and assist with routine production tasks.
