Production Supervisor
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: On-Site Manufacturing Facility
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, made-to-order production environment. This role is responsible for supervising machinists, welders, and operators while driving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with machining experience, strong employee management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved.
- Manage and develop machinists, welders, and operators through coaching, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Monitor production schedules, staffing levels, attendance, and workflow to maximize efficiency and meet customer commitments.
- Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Shipping, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve performance.
- Support quality initiatives, nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Drive accountability and maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Manage production tooling, equipment utilization, and related resources.

Required
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience leading teams of 15 or more employees.
- Minimum 3 years of machining experience, preferably in a CNC machining environment.
- Working knowledge of CNC machining processes, mill/turn equipment, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using ERP and timekeeping systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
Work Experience Required:
- 5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a made-to-order manufacturing environment (with degree) or 10 years of experience (without degree), directly managing at least 15 employees.
- 3 years of experience in a machining environment
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular walking throughout a manufacturing facility, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, and the ability to work in both office and production environments.
