Description

The Logistics Coordinator/LTL Specialist coordinates Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments while ensuring cost-effective and timely transportation solutions. This role involves working with carriers, providing exceptional customer service, and managing freight logistics efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

· Customer Service: Provide prompt and professional support to customers regarding LTL shipments, resolving issues effectively.

· Rate Quotes & Shopping Rates: Obtain competitive freight rates by comparing carrier pricing and service levels.

· LTL Carrier Coordination: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with LTL carriers to optimize service and costs.

· Freight Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and dispatch shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

· Tracking & Tracing Freight: Monitor shipments, provide updates to customers, and address any transit issues proactively.

· Filing Claims: Process and track freight claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

· Data Entry: Maintain accurate shipment details, carrier information, and customer records in company systems.

· Customer Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers to foster repeat business.

· Cold Calling New Customers: Conduct outbound calls to generate new business opportunities and expand customer base.

· All Other Duties as Assigned: Support additional logistics functions as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in LTL logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation management.
  • Strong understanding of LTL pricing, freight classifications, and carrier networks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in LTL freight management or a similar role is a plus.
