The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our ranch team. The individual will operate various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials, including some of the following types of equipment: backhoe, bulldozer, track hoe. 


You will:

o Set up and operate equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

o Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

o Maintain strong working knowledge about the operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment.

o Safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, constantly aware of the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area.

o Interpret hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.

o Manipulate equipment on unlevel working surface.

o Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation.

o Perform routine maintenance or repairs.

o Perform other duties as required.

The Past Experience

  • 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, agriculture, ranching, land management, or a related field preferred. 
  • Previous experience operating equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, track hoes/excavators, skid steers, loaders, tractors, or similar machinery. 
  • Experience performing dirt work, grading, excavation, land clearing, trenching, road work, or material handling preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment operation, safety procedures, and routine preventative maintenance. 
  • Experience working safely around employees, utilities, structures, livestock, and other equipment. 
  • Ability to operate equipment safely on uneven or changing terrain and in varying outdoor conditions. 
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
