The Fine Wine Warehouse Specialist will work to support Acker's fine and rare wine warehouse operations. This position will work as part of a team to receive, inspect, and inventory wines to be input into a database for sale. This role will also be trained in the process of authenticating old and rare wines. This warehouse role is ideal for a candidate looking to build deep, hands-on wine knowledge and expertise in the fine and rare wine trade.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Wine Knowledge

• Inventory wines based on their appellation, region, vineyard, producer, and vintage, building deep wine knowledge of fine and rare wine.

• Inspect products for defects or damages.

• Will receive additional training in the process of authenticating wines.

• Perform in-house inspections of wine and spirits.

• Apply and grow wine knowledge of labeling, provenance, and condition to support fine and rare wine authentication.

• Gain firsthand exposure to some of the world’s most sought-after fine and rare wines passing through Acker’s auctions and retail inventory.

• Work alongside Acker’s wine authentication specialists and gain exposure to a rare, direct path to deep fine and rare wine expertise.

• Oversee and support receiving and unpacking of incoming products.

Warehouse Operations

• Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.

• Box, palletize, and put away inventory.

• Use warehouse management and inventory database systems to track incoming and outgoing fulfillment across the warehouse and wine cellar.

• Maintains accurate daily records of goods received.

• Abide by all company safety standards.

• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space.

• Travel to offsite wine cellar locations to perform similar duties as above.

• Performs other related duties as requested.

$60,000–$80,000 per year, based on fine wine experience

Required Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrate the capacity to take on multiple projects.

• Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.

• Strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience

• WSET or other wine education, with strong wine knowledge and aspirations to deepen expertise in fine and rare wine.

• Have 3 or more years of warehouse and inventory experience.

• Spirits knowledge a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, stand, sit and reach.

• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.

• Ability to regularly lift and move 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Temperature-controlled warehouse and wine cellar environment.
