POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:
Planning
- Work with and assist CEO in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic and tactical business plans
- Develop financial and tax strategies
- Manage the capital request and forecasting processes
- Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction
Operations
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
- Manage the accounting, human resources, risk management, legal, and tax functions
- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
- Implement operational best practices
- Direct all acquisition and divestiture due diligence and negotiations
- Manage and negotiate all long-term real estate leases with numerous municipalities
Financial
- Oversee all financial reporting and issuance of required financial information to constituents
- Responsible for all banking relationships and capital structure
- Monitor cash balances and maintain current cash forecasts
Risk Management
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Business Development
- Develop business relationships within the aviation industry
- Identify potential business opportunities in company’s territory
Desired Qualifications:
The candidate for Chief Financial Officer must be a leader and have an MBA with a well-rounded knowledge of accounting, finance, operations and real estate with at least 10+ years of demonstrated career advancement in a mid-sized company or division of a large corporation. Candidate should also have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with aviation and/or service sector backgrounds.
Working Conditions:
Will work in an office environment. Travel to company locations outside of Arizona will be necessary, as well as for aviation-related events.
Job Specifications:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a have clean driving record.
- Able to pass a background check.
