Demand Generation Manager
Fully Remote Remote Worker - N/A Marketing
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Summary

This crucial Marketing role owns the machine that turns awareness into revenue: the campaigns that generate qualified leads and move them into pipeline. It is a hands-on, quantitative role. The Demand Generation Manager will build and run campaigns personally, not just direct them, treating the funnel numbers as the job, not a slide in a monthly report.

This role also manages a Marketing Operations Specialist responsible for Marketing systems, campaign deployment, and reporting, setting the targets, strategy, structure, and standards the Specialist executes against. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing.

Responsibilities

Demand Generation and Campaigns

  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, build and manage integrated, omnichannel demand generation campaigns (including email, social, paid, web, and events) that generate qualified leads and pipeline against Marketing's goals.
  • Design and run lifecycle and nurture programs that move a lead from first touch to sales-qualified, using both traditional marketing automation and agentic AI tools.
  • Partner with Sales on lead qualification, handoff criteria, and pipeline attribution, so Marketing and Sales work from the same numbers.
  • Test and optimize campaigns continuously: channel mix, messaging, offers, and audience segments, and shift Marketing effort and spend toward what is actually working.
  • Use AI tools, including Claude, to scale campaign planning and execution capacity: drafting campaign briefs, building multi-channel plans and calendars, and summarizing performance data, so the team covers more ground without adding headcount.

Operations and Reporting

  • Own and optimize lead and pipeline reporting: MQLs, marketing-generated pipeline, and every leading indicator in between, including conversion rates, cost per lead, and funnel velocity.
  • Set targets for lead and pipeline generation and report progress against them to Marketing and Sales leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Manage and professionally develop a Marketing Operations Specialist who owns the marketing tech stack, campaign execution, and reporting function.
  • Utilizing the Marketing Operations role on the team, ensure HubSpot and Salesforce are clean enough to trust: audience segmentation, list hygiene, and a tight handoff between the two systems so Marketing and Sales are working from the same record.

What Success Looks Like

30 days: a firm grasp on resources, tech stack, and data sources, and executing on the first campaign plans.

60 days: knowing exactly where every lead sits in the funnel and why campaigns over- or under-perform, with the first defensible calls made on where to shift resources.

90 days: a clear path and progress toward hitting Marketing's quarterly MQL and pipeline goals.

2 quarters: lead and pipeline generation performing predictably on-target, marketing and sales aligned on what the numbers mean, and a clean, documented, scalable tech stack.

Requirements
  • 3+ years in demand generation, marketing operations, or growth marketing, with a track record of hitting lead and pipeline targets.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying campaigns in HubSpot, and reporting out of Salesforce. Both are core to this role.
  • Fluency with funnel metrics, and the judgment to tell a lead-quality problem apart from a volume problem or a conversion problem.
  • Experience managing or mentoring operational direct reports.
  • Eager to own a number and be measured against it.
  • Practical experience using AI tools like Claude for campaign work: drafting, segmentation, and reporting synthesis, with the judgment to evaluate the accuracy and trustworthiness of output.

Other Desired Skills and Qualifications

Experience in K-12 education or another long-cycle, multi-stakeholder B2B services environment. A school district's buying cycle does not behave like a B2C funnel.
