Shift: Full Time but must be available for Weekdays, Weeknights, Weekends, Days, Afternoons, Nights
Job Purpose:
The Accounting Assistant will provide administrative and financial support to the General Manager and Marquette Mountain Resort. Responsibilities include maintaining precise accounting records, overseeing expense accounts, managing cash handling procedures, and performing various administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Posting and reviewing general ledger journal entries
- Weekly gathering and reconciling of expense receipts in Concur
- Entering daily POS shift reports into QuickBooks
- Weekly register counts, change provision, and log maintenance
- Processing license renewals and maintaining records
- Handling mail and package pickup/delivery
- Participating in monthly financial statement analysis
- Receiving, scanning, and uploading invoices to QuickBooks
- Contacting cardholders for missing receipts and expense coding
- Assisting department heads with expense tracking and budgets
- Updating the Summary Commitment Sheet
- Completing learning modules to support professional growth
- Assisting the General Manager with administrative and marketing tasks
- Contributing to team spirit and creative problem-solving
- Daily posting of bank activity
- Performing general ledger reconciliations
- Daily cash collection, reconciliation to QuickBooks, and bank deposits
- Reconciling cash overages/shortages
- Assisting with department inventory counts
- Presenting monthly financial reports to management
- Adapting to organizational needs and undertaking additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- An associate degree in Accounting (2-year) or at least one year of equivalent professional accounting experience is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail / accuracy
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Strong spreadsheet and Google Application skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in an occasionally loud/chaotic environment
- Valid driver’s license
