The Mariners’ Museum and Park’s mission is to connect people to the world’s waters, because through the water - through our shared maritime heritage - we are connected to one another. The Guest Experiences Associate serves as a welcoming, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic ambassador for The Mariners’ Museum and Park, creating positive and memorable experiences for every guest while bringing The Mariners' mission to life. This position supports front desk, admissions, membership, and retail operations while helping guests discover The Mariners' collections, programs, events, and Park offerings. Through exceptional customer service and meaningful interactions, the Guest Experiences Associate builds connections with visitors by answering questions, anticipating guest needs, and connecting them with experiences and opportunities that enhance their visit.
This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position working up to 20 hours a week and paying $15.00 an hour. The ideal candidate must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.

Duties:
- Welcome each guest to The Mariners' in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic representative of The Mariners’ Museum and Park.
- Operate the admissions desk, including processing admissions, memberships, retail, and other transactions.
- Provide information about the Museum Collections, programs, events, tours, and other offerings.
- Assist guests with questions, directions, accessibility needs, and general wayfinding throughout the Museum and Park.
- Promote memberships, programs, events, tours, and other opportunities relevant to guests.
- Support special events, programs, and other Guest Experiences initiatives as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, daily counts, cash handling, and other front-of-house operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming admissions and retail environment.
- Create positive interactions that encourage guests to explore more of The Mariners' and return in the future.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- Able to communicate enthusiasm for The Mariners' mission and its programs.
- Able to provide excellent customer service in a busy, public-facing environment.
- Comfortable handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Must have the ability to gracefully handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills and cash register experience are helpful.
Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in customer service and cash-handling preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
- Must be able to pass a background check and possess a clear motor vehicle record for employment.
