Established in 2007, Element Electronics began with a simple belief - every household should have access to TVs featuring cutting-edge technology. In 2014, we took our commitment further by opening a factory in Winnsboro, SC, making Element the sole major television company assembling TVs in the United States. Presently, we continue to challenge ourselves, expanding our product range to include electronics and home appliances, while consistently providing customers with products showcasing the latest technology, all at affordable prices.   

Element Electronics is building an in-house development team from the ground up. The team builds the custom applications and integrations that run our manufacturing, distribution, and corporate operations, working around and alongside our NetSuite ERP and other enterprise platforms. The Technical Lead builds that team and the engineering practice behind it: hiring and developing engineers, setting the standards for how we design, build, test, and ship, and owning the technical direction of our application portfolio. This is a hands-on role. You will write and review code in .NET and modern front-end frameworks, and you will also decide how the team works, what we build in-house versus with partners, and how we keep our systems secure and maintainable as they grow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Team Building & Leadership (30%)

• Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of internal developers; define roles, career paths, and hiring standards.
• Set expectations for code quality, documentation, and delivery, and hold the team to them through mentorship and review.
• Lead a blended team of internal engineers and partner resources, with the goal of moving core knowledge and ownership in-house over time.
• Build a culture of automation and continuous improvement: eliminate manual processes, measure the outcome, repeat.

Engineering Practice & Governance (25%)

• Maintain the SDLC for custom development: source control, branching strategy, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, environment and release management.
• Own application architecture and development standards for .NET services, APIs, and front-end applications; serve as the senior technical authority on how we build.
• Embed security-by-design across the SDLC; ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Application Development & Integration (20%)

• Design, build, and maintain custom applications using C#/.NET on the back end and React/Next.js/TypeScript on the front end.
• Build and maintain integrations between NetSuite and other enterprise systems (EDI, warehouse and manufacturing systems, data platform) through APIs and integration platforms.
• Evaluate and select tools, frameworks, and integration platforms that improve reliability and maintainability.

Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement (20%)

• Own end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives: scope, plan, timeline, quality, and issue resolution.
• Partner with operations, finance, supply chain, and other business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Act as the technical liaison to vendors and implementation partners; conduct impact assessments and risk reviews for proposed changes.
• Track and report on delivery and team-health KPIs; participate in strategic technology planning.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including enterprise architecture and systems integration; 3+ years leading developers.
• Solid understanding of C#/.NET (ASP.NET, Web APIs, Entity Framework) and SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, authentication (OAuth/OIDC), and enterprise integration patterns; experience integrating with ERP platforms via their APIs.
• Demonstrated experience building or scaling a development team, including hiring and mentoring.
• Agile delivery experience: backlog management, ceremonies, cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize, and deliver under tight deadlines; excellent communication skills.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE

• Strong front-end proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience establishing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments.
• Integration platforms (Workato, Celigo, Boomi) and EDI platforms (Orderful or similar).
• Experience transitioning work from implementation partners to an in-house team.
