Role Overview
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Salient, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Your keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborative spirit will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and interpret system specifications to understand the overall system architecture and individual components.
- Create and execute detailed test cases to ensure product quality and functionality.
- Report and track bugs using JIRA, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams, Product Management, and Customer Support to perform both functional and non-functional testing.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements and team-oriented initiatives.
- Leverage AI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude) as part of daily testing workflows, including test case drafting, log analysis, and lightweight scripting for data collection.

Required Experience
- 2+ years of professional experience as a software tester
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies including test planning, test execution, and defect management
- Demonstrated experience using Claude (or comparable LLM tools) as part of a daily QA workflow
- Ability to translate user story acceptance criteria into comprehensive test coverage
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on teamwork
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting test results and actionable items
- Work experience with API Testing
- Experience using SQL for test validation
Preferred Experience
- Experience using LLM tools to write scripts for testing or data collection tasks
- Experience building or working with AI agents (e.g., agentic workflows, MCP-based tooling)
- Work experience with Automation
- Knowledge of testing cloud-enabled applications in AWS environments
- Experience planning and executing scalability, security, and performance testing
- Experience testing Video Management software
