JB Roofing, A Tecta America Company, is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman / Lead Man to lead field crews and deliver safe, high-quality commercial roofing projects.


This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced roofer who knows how to run a crew, maintain productivity, and get the job done right. You'll work closely with the Project Manager while taking ownership of day-to-day field operations, safety, quality, and crew performance.

For overnight out-of-town projects, hotel accommodations are company-paid and employees receive a daily meal stipend.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and direct roofing crews on commercial roofing projects.
  • Plan daily work activities and assign responsibilities to crew members.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to maintain schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and work requirements.
  • Monitor installation quality to ensure work meets project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
  • Track job progress and communicate production, labor, material, and jobsite needs to the Project Manager.
  • Identify and resolve routine field issues to keep projects moving.
  • Coordinate professionally with general contractors, subcontractors, customers, and other trades.
  • Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety policies on the jobsite.
  • Conduct and document toolbox talks and required safety activities.
  • Ensure proper use and care of company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles.
  • Complete project punch lists with a goal of zero outstanding items before leaving the jobsite.
  • Provide regular job progress photos.
  • Complete daily job reports, employee hours, extra work orders, safety documentation, photographs, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Roofing Foreman or roofing crew leadership experience required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma or GED is not required
  • Commercial roofing installation and repair experience
  • Ability to lead a crew, organize daily work, and maintain jobsite productivity
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings, sketches, specifications, and roofing details
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to safely work at heights and access commercial rooftops using ladders
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Commercial Roofing Experience

We're looking for someone with hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems. Experience with the following is highly valued:

  • TPO
  • PVC
  • EPDM
  • Modified Bitumen
  • Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
  • Asphalt roofing systems

You should be comfortable with the tools, equipment, materials, installation methods, and details associated with commercial roofing work.


Schedule & Travel

The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and out-of-town work depending on project needs. During a standard workweek, employees are typically home in the evenings.

When overnight travel is required, JB Roofing provides company-paid hotel accommodations and a daily meal stipend.


Physical Requirements

This is an active, field-based position requiring regular work on commercial rooftops and construction sites. Candidates must be able to:

  • Work safely at heights and on uneven or sloped roofing surfaces
  • Climb ladders and access rooftops
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequently squat, kneel, push, and pull
  • Frequently handle weights up to approximately 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Safely operate roofing tools and mechanical equipment
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 90°F
