Position Title and Summary: Shipping Lead

The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe handling of outbound products. This role plays a critical part in coordinating shipments, managing workflow, and ensuring timely delivery of finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and organization. The Shipping Lead works closely with production, warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to support on-time order fulfillment, cost control, and overall operational efficiency.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of warehouse or shipping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior leadership or lead experience preferred
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents, bills of lading, and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job requirements
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as business needs require


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule
  • Coordinate outbound shipments with production schedules to meet customer deadlines
  • Verify shipping documentation, including packing slips and bills of lading, for accuracy
  • Perform final quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure correct product, quantity, and packaging
  • Stage, load, and organize finished goods for shipment
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory movement and shipping records
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or issues
  • Monitor freight activity and support cost-efficient shipping practices
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Provide direction and support to shipping team members to ensure productivity and accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, customer service, and leadership teams
  • Document shipments, inventory movement, and discrepancies accurately
  • Report inventory issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards promptly

Compensation and Benefits (Washington State Pay Transparency)

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, shift assignment, and qualifications

Requirements
