Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in implementing data-driven solutions to meet business requirements, utilizing a variety of tools and technologies. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to provide valuable insights that drive key business decisions.
Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies, specializing in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient’s journey as smooth as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex data analysis to support business operations and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and load processes for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate source-system and BI-platform data (e.g., Google Looker) into Azure SQL Server.
- Design and maintain automated processes that generate partner-specified data files (e.g., pipe-delimited extracts matching manufacturer specifications) and deliver them securely to external SFTP endpoints.
- Use Python for statistical analysis, data manipulation, and automation tasks.
- Create interactive visualizations and reports using Power BI, including proficiency in DAX.
- Build and maintain financial models, recurring workbooks, and executive-facing deliverables in Excel.
- Manage data sources, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements and data models.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a related role, including senior or lead-level analytical work.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong SQL coding skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, including extracting data from REST and BI-platform APIs (e.g., Google Looker) and loading it into a relational data warehouse.
- Experience designing and scheduling data pipelines in a dedicated orchestration/ETL tool; Azure Data Factory preferred, with equivalent experience in SSIS or a comparable tool considered.
- Experience building automated, spec-compliant outbound data feeds for external partners, including secure file transfer (SFTP) and secure handling of credentials/secrets (e.g., Azure Key Vault).
- Working knowledge of patient data de-identification / tokenization techniques and secure handling of PHI in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboards and reporting, including DAX.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, complex formulas, and maintainable recurring deliverables.
- Experience with cloud-based relational databases and data warehouses; Azure SQL / Azure Synapse strongly preferred (equivalent experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift also considered).
- Solid understanding of data management principles and data quality best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate SQL, Python, and analytical work, with sound judgment to validate outputs before they reach stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data lake / lakehouse architecture (e.g., Azure Data Lake) — supports planned expansion of our analytics platform.
- Familiarity with Looker / LookML as a source reporting layer.
- Proficiency in R for statistical analysis (supports growth of advanced healthcare analytics capabilities).
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint for building executive and partner-facing presentations.
- Experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or infusion services analytics.
