We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our Solutions Engineering team and serve as a trusted technical resource for electric utility customers navigating complex grid challenges. What will you do?

Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives

• Serve as a reliable technical point of contact for utility customers, translate their transmission planning and operational challenges into well-scoped LineVision solutions
• Lead scoping studies and profiling analyses, delivering findings that make a clear case for project value
• Build and present technical deliverables for pre-sales engagements, from initial discovery through business case development
• Represent LineVision at industry forums including IEEE and CIGRE; contribute to white papers and technical presentations that establish LineVision as a thought leader in grid intelligence
• Bring structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap priorities
• Travel to customer sites ~25%

Within the first 3 months:

• Complete onboarding on LineVision's platform, sensor technology, and Dynamic Line Rating methodology
• Shadow and then support pre-sales meetings alongside Sales Directors; begin building scoping deliverables independently
• Analyze data from prior customer deployments to develop familiarity with scoping inputs and project outcomes

Within the first 6 months:

• Own the technical workstream on assigned pre-sales opportunities from scoping through handoff
• Lead technical deep dives and network-level scope review meetings with utility engineering teams
• Deliver at least one structured feedback report to Product based on patterns observed across customer engagements

Within the first year:

• Operate as an independent technical lead on mid-sized customer opportunities with minimal guidance
• Contribute to or present at an industry event or working group (IEEE, CIGRE, or equivalent)
• Help improve scoping tools, templates, or processes based on accumulated project experience

Essential Skills

• Background in electrical engineering, power systems, or utility transmission operations
• Experience translating technical analysis into business-relevant recommendations for utility stakeholders
• Strong communication and presentation skills — comfortable with both engineering audiences and utility executives
• Proficiency in data analysis; experience with grid modeling, DLR, or situational awareness is a plus

What Sets the Best Candidates Apart

• Direct experience in transmission planning, operations, or grid optimization at a utility or consulting firm
• Demonstrated ability to produce external technical content — white papers, conference presentations, or IEEE/CIGRE contributions
• Track record of managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy
• Familiarity with Dynamic Line Ratings or grid-enhancing technologies

• Reports to the Senior Solutions Engineering Manager
• Collaborates closely with Sales, Client Success, and Product teams
