Position Summary


As a Senior Account Executive, you are a strategic, results-oriented individual contributor responsible for managing and growing key OEM/ISV relationships by driving revenue through multi-level complex sales, retention, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.


This role combines strong commercial ownership with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives that enhance the customer experience and overall business performance.

You have a deep comprehension of technology combined with strong business acumen, highly proactive, analytical and customer-focused skills, and an ability to operate independently, navigate complex organizations, and translate customer and business needs into actionable strategies resulting in profitable scalable solutions. 


To support collaboration and business needs, this position is based on site at our Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo Grove, IL. Candidates must be able to work in-office on a regular basis. 


What You Will Do

  • Consistently achieve or exceed key performance metrics, including revenue growth, customer retention, customer satisfaction, and account health. Transform a complex set of business pain points into a healthy, focused, revenue-generating partnership.
  • Responsible for developing and servicing client relationships, coordinating customer forecasts, selling post-installation support and identifying new product/service opportunities.
  • C-Level engagement yielding trust within all levels in an organization based on a high integrity, high-credibility approach. 
  • Own the full customer lifecycle, including lead generation, prospecting, qualifying, closing, onboarding, account management, and ongoing relationship development.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with a defined set of customers, serving as a knowledgeable advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Drive account growth through proactive identification of customer needs and expansion opportunities to help customer scale efficiently and profitably.
  • Use customer feedback, account data, and other performance metrics to identify trends, improve customer experience, and inform business decisions.
  • Proactively identify process gaps and improvement opportunities and use structured problem-solving, process mapping, facilitation, and data analysis to develop and implement solutions.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Sales, Finance, and other teams to resolve customer issues and deliver business objectives.
  • Partner with product and technical teams to refine, launch, and improve products and services based on customer and market needs.
  • Champion the customer perspective within the organization while balancing requirements with business objectives, profitability, and operational constraints.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new account management team members by sharing proven approaches, tools, processes, and customer practices.
  • Serve as a senior individual contributor and subject-matter resource, influencing peers and cross-functional partners.

Requirements
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in strategic account management, sales, customer success, business development, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of OEM/ISV customer relationships from prospecting and initial qualification through contracting, onboarding, account management, retention, and expansion.
  • Proven track record of revenue growth, customer retention, and achievement of commercial targets.
  • Experience engaging effectively with C-suite and senior executives, as well as operational, technical, financial, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Strong experience translating customer business needs and pain points into commercially viable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving functions such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Product, Sales, and Customer Support.
  • Experience working in an environment where profitability, operational constraints, customer requirements, and long-term relationship value must be balanced.
  • Strong consultative selling and solution-selling capabilities, with the ability to uncover needs and develop compelling business cases.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial judgment, including experience navigating pricing, contracts, scope, service expectations, and customer commitments.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to understand revenue, margin/profitability, cost drivers, forecasts, and account economics.
  • Experience working with long sales cycles and complex logistics processes.
  • Experience developing QBRs and presenting strategic recommendations.
  • Industry-specific technical knowledge relevant to Paragon's products and customers.
