The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment throughout an aluminum extrusion manufacturing facility. This position performs routine cleaning of production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, warehouses, and other facility areas while following company safety procedures and maintaining proper housekeeping standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production floors, walkways, work areas, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors as required.
• Remove aluminum chips, scrap, dust, dirt, and general debris from designated areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of materials according to company procedures.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other employee areas.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, fixtures, tables, and other surfaces as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness around extrusion presses, saw areas, packaging areas, and other production equipment without interfering with machine operation or entering restricted areas.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools safely and according to instructions.
• Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other janitorial equipment when trained and authorized.
• Report spills, leaks, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements and hazardous-material handling procedures.
• Keep janitorial supplies properly stocked and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
• Maintain a clean and organized janitorial supply area.
• Assist with periodic deep-cleaning projects and facility maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies and equipment as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical cleaning activities for extended periods.

All candidates must be able to lift 75 lbs. or more on a consistent basis, work in a non-air conditioned/non-heated work environment.

• Be flexible to work shift hours as needed.

• Our available positions are 2nd Shift (4 p.m. to 4 a.m.)
