What You'll Be Doing

A Regional Retail Banking Manager at Bank Iowa is responsible for overall leadership and management of the regional retail operations, client experience, business development, community leadership and teller functions. This person requires knowledge of retail banking regulatory requirements and branch operating standards to ensure compliance with regulations and to protect the bank from unnecessary losses and risk. You will implement, train, and monitor policies, processes and procedures for all retail deposit products and services including but not limited to loan and deposit development activities and strategies to promote growth. Our Regional Retail Banking Managers ensures a consistent client experience by providing friendly, quality client experience and treats internal and external clients with respect and dignity, either in person or on the phone.

  • Visits each branch location and evaluates needs as they relate to the day-to-day operations, business development, client experience, and training. Provides ongoing review and management of establishes processes, procedures, and business development strategies.
  • Responsible for the expansion of personalized banking services to current and prospective clients, consistently seeking to expand client relationships through business development and activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank Products, Programs.
  • Implements and champions policies and procedures relative to retail products and services.
  • Promotes all marketing campaigns, sales development activities and referral programs for designated branches.
  • Provides a superior level of client relations and promotes the sales and services culture through coaching, guidance, and team motivation.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and services, including pricing of deposit and loan products, fees, and other changes in the market. Oversees the roll out of new bank products and services.
  • Serves as the regional liaison for the teller and new account software platforms.
  • Ensures ongoing utilization of established policies, processes and procedures.
  • Conducts retail meetings as necessary.
  • Ensures processes and procedures followed are in compliance with all bank policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and legislations affecting products and services.
  • Represents the bank at community functions.
  • Performs consumer lending functions and ensures loan applications are accepted and underwritten within bank loan policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze credit and financial information for processing of loans and other bank products for client to ensure applicable lending policies and procedures are followed.
  • May directly manage the day-to-day activities of a branch.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management of multiple branches activities, including business
  • development, sales and service, community leadership, and achieving financial and compliance
  • standards.
  • Provides support to retail staff on operational, as well as product/service issues.
  • Training, Communication and Development of Staff
  • Ensures all branches are properly trained to perform their job responsibilities.
  • Ensures the communication of all policies and procedures.
  • Provides guidelines and materials to appropriate retail staff.
  • Serves as a champion and ambassador for retail strategy, operational change, and business development.
  • Supports team members development by focusing on their innate talents and developing those into areas of strengths.
  • Listens to and advocates for team members to ensure their engagement needs are met.
  • Supports team member performance by establishing annual goals, setting clear expectations and providing continual coaching.
  • Creates a culture of accountability that celebrates progress as often as outcomes.
  • Builds relationships that create trust and allow two-way dialogue.

General Responsibilities

  • Performs other bank related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Attends committee/management meetings.
  • Responsible for facilities management.
  • Understands and complies with banking regulations by following bank policies and procedures.
  • Stays abreast of relevant regulations, current industry matters, and any changes implemented internally to ensure compliance.
  • Partners with all business lines to ensure full line of services and products are available to clients. and that retail staff are educated on referring to them.
Requirements

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years’ previous experience in retail operations management.
  • Extensive background in bank operating policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal), team member development, and public relations.

  • Register and obtain a unique identifier number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System as a Mortgage Loan originator as well as keep the license in force by submitting updates when personal information changes and to complete the annual renewal of the license.
