Summary

The Lift Access Director/Monitor is responsible for maintaining efficient, organized, and safe guest flow through lift access gates and maze areas. This position serves as the primary point of control for directing guests, monitoring lift line operations, and ensuring continuous movement through scanner gates. 

 Lift Line Management & Guest Flow

• Assume responsible charge of lift lines and maze areas.
• Direct and maintain orderly guest traffic through lift access gates and loading areas.
• Communicate clearly and confidently with large groups of guests to provide direction and information.
• Assist guests through scanner gates and address access issues that may impede traffic flow.
• Maintain lift access areas in accordance with operational standards.

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor ticket scanner systems, camera feeds, tablets, and computer systems used for lift access operations.
• Identify scanner, gate, or computer issues and communicate with Lift Operations leadership and IT personnel to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain communication with Lift Supervisors and other Lift Access Directors regarding operational concerns and line conditions.

Access Control & Fraud Prevention

• Use tablets, computers, and monitoring systems to identify potential misuse or fraudulent use of tickets and passes.
• Flag misused tickets or passes when appropriate and accurately document incidents according to department procedures.
• Communicate pass misuse concerns to Lift Operations leadership.

Non-Essential Functions of the Job

• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Assist with mountain rescue efforts when requested and properly trained.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Present a professional, positive image of Bogus Basin while interacting with guests and employees.

Job Requirements

• Passionate about Bogus Basin's mission and values.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively with limited supervision.
• Basic computer and tablet proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-traffic and fast-paced environments.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to stand, walk, balance, and move around lift areas for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment necessary for lift maze setup and maintenance.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Position is regularly exposed to varying and potentially severe weather conditions.
• Noise, vibration, and guest crowding may be present in the work environment.
• Position requires frequent movement between lift areas, maze systems, and monitoring workstations.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

When in the public eye, your personal appearance is an important part of the product we offer our guests. You should come to work neatly groomed and in uniform. In addition to the uniform jacket, Lift Access Directors need the following equipment:

• Black ski or snowboard pants 
• Gloves or mittens, durable and in good repair
• Helmet (if riding on the clock to work location) and eyewear
• Thermal wear, sufficient clothing for warmth
• Appropriate equipment for alpine skiing/snowboarding that is up-to-date, in good repair and in safe working condition
