Overview:

The Relationship Banker plays a key role in driving the branch’s sales and relationship management efforts. This position is responsible for identifying customer needs, delivering tailored financial solutions, and building strong customer relationships through a consultative, customer-focused approach. 

Working closely with the Branch Manager, the Relationship Banker proactively acquires and grows deposit and loan relationships through outreach, scheduled appointments, and customer follow-up. This role helps expand the branch’s customer base and portfolio by identifying customer needs, recommending appropriate products and services, referring customers to other business lines, and ensuring every interaction reflects the Bank’s service standards. The Relationship Banker also provides operational support when needed, assisting on the teller line and helping maintain a consistent customer experience across all service channels. In addition, this role provides supervisory support within the branch, helping reinforce operational standards, service quality, and overall branch performance.

The Relationship Banker serves as a trusted financial resource, building long-term relationships that support customer satisfaction and the Bank’s growth objectives. 


Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Sales and Relationship Management

  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct outreach to existing and prospective customers to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Schedule and conduct customer appointments and follow up to ensure needs are met.
  • Refer customers to other business lines to provide a full range of financial solutions.
  • Contribute to branch sales and service initiatives through collaboration, teamwork, and participation in campaigns and outreach efforts.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional service by actively listening to customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns promptly. 
  • Model the Bank’s customer service standards in all interactions, ensuring a positive and professional experience. 
  • Assist customers with digital banking tools and services to enhance convenience and engagement. 

Operational Support

  • Provide coverage on the teller line as needed, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all Bank policies, security requirements, and regulatory standards. 
  • Support daily branch operations through cash handling, balancing, and dual control procedures when required. 

Supervisory Support

  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of branch management, helping oversee daily branch operations and ensuring service and operational standards are maintained. 
  • Provide leadership support within the branch by reinforcing operational standards, service expectations, and overall branch performance. 
  • Serve as a resource for the frontline staff by providing guidance, answering questions, and supporting adherence to Bank policies and procedures. 
  • Help promote a positive team environment through collaboration, communication, and accountability. 

Community Engagement

  • Represent the Bank in the community through professional interactions that promote the Bank’s reputation and visibility.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • NMLS Certification required
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by te Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager 



Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Retail Banking, sales, or customer service is required. Demonstration of strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and provide appropriate financial solutions. Experience with consumer lending and new account opening is preferred. Success in this role requires a proactive sales mindset, operational accuracy, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience. 


Work Environment/Physical Demands/Condition Requirements:

Busy office environment, with moderate noise: computers, printers, phones, and light traffic. 

Must be able to focus and not be easily distracted. Must be able to sit for at least 70% of the 

workday. Movement is required between workstations, offices, vaults, lobby, etc. Must be able to see computer screen and read documents. Ability to lift 10 lbs. Ability to multitask. Ability to travel to other Bank offices and branches, offsite meetings, company related functions, etc. with short notices.

Compliance:

Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.


Information Security:

Responsible for actively protecting the confidentiality of customer information and computer systems used in the bank by:

  • Remaining alert to and reporting malicious or suspected malicious email.
  • Participating in training opportunities to ensure continued protection of customer data.
  • Provide feedback where possible to help improve the Bank’s security culture.

Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Annual Salary Range: $48,574.50 - $58,897.55

The base salary range displayed represents the expected budget for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation packages are finalized at the offer stage and are determined by a variety of factors. The starting salary will be based on the following, but not limited to, the candidate’s specific work experience, job-related knowledge, education, specialized skills, certifications, and internal pay equity across our current team.
