Description

Related to the Company's trucking, drayage, landbridge, and storage operations, the Account Manager Nightside is the primary point of contact for phone and email inquiries, and covers nightside Account Manager and Customer Service support outside standard business hours. This role provides responsive, accurate service to motor carriers and customers, while also assisting with billing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) associated with third-party trucking accounts. This position also covers night project drayage work, which may run from 1 to 10 days per project, and monitors the Account Manager and Customer Service email inboxes during shift hours, responding to inquiries directly or communicating any actions taken to the applicable Account Manager. The Account Manager Nightside also receives work assignments from the Senior Billing & AP/AR Analyst and the Director of Freight Brokerage. This position is based out of the Company's Long Beach, CA office.


 Responsibilities: 

• Cover night project drayage work as assigned, which may run from 1 to 10 days per project.

• Respond to motor carrier and customer inquiries regarding gate hours, yard access, and chassis/container availability.

• Communicate locations, hours of operation, and contact information for Ports, Rail Ramps, and Depots as needed.

• Monitor the Account Manager email inbox during shift hours; respond to inquiries when able or communicate any actions taken back to the applicable Account Manager.

• Monitor the Customer Service email inbox during shift hours and respond directly to inquiries.

• Serve as the first point of contact for incoming phone calls and emails regarding storage yard operations.

• Escalate operational issues or service concerns to the appropriate Operations Manager or Director in a timely manner.

• Assist with billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing associated with third-party trucking accounts.

• Communicate the invoicing process to customers and motor carriers; track and follow up on outstanding invoices.

• Research and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with internal finance and accounting teams.

• Assist in reconciling depot and terminal billing issues as they relate to third-party trucking accounts.

• Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and account statuses using Company systems.

• Maintain and update spreadsheets and reports related to yard, billing, and carrier account activity.

• Provide weekly status reporting to management as requested.

• Receive and complete work assignments from the Senior Billing & AP/AR Analyst and the Director of Freight Brokerage.

• All other duties and projects assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

    

• 3 years of experience with customer service and problem solving in trucking or similar industry.

• 1 year of experience with billing or accounts receivable preferred.

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experienced and comfortable with multiple computer programs.

• Organizational skills, able to meet deadlines.

• Able to communicate clearly and collaborate.

• Detail oriented and produces accurate work.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

• Able to spend long periods of time at a computer station.

• Able to respond quickly to tight deadlines.

• Regularly scheduled to work an afternoon/evening shift (3:30 PM - 12:30 AM).
