Director of Marketing
Description

Job Title: Director of Marketing

Job Type: FT

Location: Hybrid 3+ days in office (Charlotte, NC)

Job Summary

We are passionate about our clients having a great experience and this also applies to our team and our future team members. Building a remarkable team is a top-level company priority. The Director of Marketing is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. This is a build role: you'll define and drive our go-to-market strategy, stand up the systems that connect marketing directly to sales results, and build our company’s brand presence across traditional, digital, and AI-driven channels. You'll work as a senior leader driving strategic decisions while executing as an individual contributor at the outset, backed by an external marketing agency for execution capacity, with the mandate to shape the function as it grows.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the sales + marketing growth engine. Design and run the connective tissue between marketing and sales — lead scoring and routing, sales enablement content, and closed-loop reporting from campaign to closed deal. This is the top priority of the role.
  • Drive near-term pipeline impact. Identify and execute quick wins that improve conversion on active sales opportunities while longer-term systems are being built.
  • Support development of go-to-market strategy. Define and execute GTM plans in close coordination with sales leadership and the executive team, including segmentation, positioning, and launch strategy for current and future offerings.
  • Build brand recognition. Develop and execute a multi-channel brand strategy that raises company visibility and credibility with HR and benefits decision-makers.
  • Grow qualified traffic and discoverability. Maximize the company’s visibility across traditional search (SEO/SEM), AI-driven search and assistants, and emerging channels.
  • Apply AI across marketing operations. Use AI tools to scale content creation, campaign execution, and reporting — increasing marketing output and speed without requiring a large internal team.
  • Partner on enterprise change management. Stay closely engaged as our products and capabilities evolve, ensuring the market is accurately informed, and sales has what it needs to sell effectively.
  • Partner across the product lifecycle. Work with product leadership from early development through launch, providing a marketing perspective at every stage.
  • Manage agency and vendor partnerships. Direct an external marketing agency and other vendors to extend the team's execution capacity and deliver against the strategy you set.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain quality work that exemplifies and promotes our company’s core values.
Requirements

  • Comfort operating as a hands-on individual contributor and directing external agencies or vendors to extend capacity.
  • Working fluency with SEO/SEM and an informed point of view on AI-driven search and discoverability.
  • Practical experience using AI tools for content creation, marketing automation, or campaign execution.
  • Experience developing and to a managing a marketing budget that balances investment with value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, product, and executive stakeholders.
