BAD Bakery is a growing locally owned bakery in Columbia, Tennessee focused on delivering exceptional donuts and baked goods made fresh daily. We are seeking an early-morning Baker who takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and creating products customers love. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on food production, working independently, and being part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mix, scale, and prepare brioche dough for donut production
• Cut and shape dough into various donut styles
• Proof and fry all types of donuts to proper specifications
• Glaze, fill, and finish donuts with consistency and attention to detail
• Perform daily fryer maintenance, including filtering and cleaning
• Maintain proper oil levels and monitor fryer performance
• Follow opening procedures and complete daily prep lists
• Prepare ingredients and items for production (e.g., egg wash, fruit cutting, fillings)
• Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Our Artisan Bakers begin production between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM, crafting fresh donuts and baked goods before customers arrive. This schedule is ideal for early risers who enjoy working independently, avoiding traffic, and finishing their workday while others are still at the office.

Qualifications:

• Previous baking or kitchen experience preferred (but not required)
• Ability to work overnight/early morning shifts
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Weekend availability required

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with brioche or enriched doughs
• Familiarity with commercial fryers and bakery equipment
• Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

This Baker position is a physically demanding position. The employee will be on their feet for most of the shift and are expected to left heavy objects.
