Description

Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, the Alumni and Development Events Intern provides vital support for the Alumni & Development Office's event programming. This part-time role requires approximately 10 - 15 hours per week. Key duties focus on event coordination, logistics support, and project organization. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain deep exposure to independent school advancement, alumni relations, and event execution. This position will end June 30, 2026.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Alumni Engagement Events Operations Associate on key event-related initiatives throughout the year, culminating in Alumni Weekend. Core responsibilities include supporting event project management, creating and updating event documentation, coordinating logistics, and assisting with overall execution. These duties directly support the broader Office of Alumni and Development team in delivering high-quality programming.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or recently completed is required.
  • Willingness to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct and synthesize research findings accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey research results and suggestions
  • Superior organizational and project management skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Proficient in using databases and other tools, with the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Able to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people, including supervisors, peers, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior to ensure the confidentiality and security of donor information
  • Able to demonstrate dedication to the mission of the Development Office at an independent school

Work Environment Characteristics and Physical Demand

  • Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work. Must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc.
  • Must be capable of using visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to talk, hear, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays in conjunction with School calendar and events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to see with normal parameters.
  • Operate in a professional work environment.
  • This is an in-person position.
