WE ARE LOOKING FOR A REAL TOOL ROOM MACHINIST.

Universal Tube is looking for an experienced manual machinist who knows how to set up and run engine lathes and Bridgeport mills and can figure out how to make or repair a part without being told every step.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• 10+ years of hands-on manual machining experience
• Extensive manual engine lathe experience
• Extensive Bridgeport milling experience
• Tool room, tool & die, or job shop experience
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Ability to hold tight tolerances
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring      tools
• Ability to work independently

THIS IS NOT A PRODUCTION CNC JOB.

We are looking for someone who has spent years making tooling, repairing tooling, building fixtures, machining one-off parts, and solving manufacturing problems.

If you can look at a print or a broken component and figure out how to make it right, you may be the person we're looking for.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Run manual engine lathes
• Run Bridgeport mills
• Build, repair, and modify tooling
• Machine one-off and short-run components
• Repair fixtures and machine components
• Read prints and determine machining processes
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Hold close tolerances
• Inspect your own work
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling problems
• Support maintenance, engineering, and production

YOUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS HERE

We aren't looking for someone who needs a detailed instruction sheet for every job.

We're looking for a seasoned machinist who can walk into the tool room, look at a problem, and know how to solve it.

Tool & die, tooling repair, fixture building, surface grinding, welding/fabrication, and CNC experience are all a plus.

6:00 AM–2:30 PM
