Description

JW Winco Canada is seeking a Territory Manager to develop new business and strengthen customer relationships across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.


The Territory Manager will work with customers to understand their equipment and applications, recommend standard and custom machine components, and provide technical sales support. Candidates must reside within the territory and be available for frequent travel. When not visiting customers or attending business events, the Territory Manager may work remotely from a home office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sell standard and custom machine and assembly components for use in machinery, displays, and equipment-manufacturing applications.
  • Consult with customers to understand their technical, operational, and application-specific requirements.
  • Demonstrate how JW Winco components may help reduce operating costs and improve production, efficiency, or equipment performance.
  • Recommend standard machine components, custom solutions, and secondary machining services based on customer needs.
  • Partner with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and determine the appropriate component applications.
  • Develop and present proposals addressing specific customer applications and technical requirements.
  • Respond to requests for industry- and application-specific product solutions.
  • Provide technical support related to the selection, installation, and implementation of application-specific machine components.
  • Assist customers in diagnosing equipment or end-user application issues and recommend appropriate JW Winco products or services.
  • Establish quarterly and annual sales goals in partnership with the General Manager of JW Winco Canada.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to fully understand customer requirements and provide technical sales support.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining JW Winco products and services to customers and prospective customers.
  • Expand JW Winco Canada’s market presence through company-provided leads, cold calling, customer development, and trade shows.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical products and customer applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and manage a large geographic sales territory.
  • Strong initiative, active-listening skills, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers, engineers, and internal team members.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is preferred. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader sales and support team.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by vehicle throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Western Canada, including regular overnight travel and occasional extended trips.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred. Candidates without formal engineering education will be considered if they possess strong mechanical aptitude and an equivalent combination of technical sales experience, industry knowledge, and relevant training. At least three years of technical sales experience involving machine components, industrial products, manufacturing equipment, or comparable products and services is preferred.


Language Requirements

Fluency in English is required. 


Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a base salary of CAD $80,000 annually, plus commission. Benefits begin on the employee’s start date and include extended health and dental coverage, basic life insurance, dependent life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, and a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP) with a company match of up to 3%.
