About The Role

The AV & Mass Communications Technician installs, configures, and troubleshoots audiovisual and mass communications systems at client sites. This role helps deliver reliable technology experiences by completing quality installations, resolving issues efficiently, and communicating clearly with lead technicians, clients, and project teams.

What you’ll own

• Complete onsite installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of audiovisual and mass communications equipment.
• Support systems such as interactive displays, digital signage, classroom sound, video conferencing, projectors, public address, paging, intercom, bell/clock, and related notification technologies.
• Maintain accurate product and equipment inventories; load, unload, stage, and organize materials needed for onsite work.
• Coordinate with lead technicians and other technicians to complete installations efficiently, provide clear progress updates, and keep work moving according to plan.
• Identify, resolve, document, or promptly escalate installation and service issues, including equipment, connectivity, configuration, and functionality concerns.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused onsite experience while following project requirements, safety expectations, and quality standards.

 What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience supporting computer deployments or large-scale technology rollouts, including laptop deployments of 1,000 or more devices.
• Hands-on familiarity with audiovisual and mass communications systems, including interactive touch displays, digital signage, classroom sound, video conferencing, projectors, public address, paging, intercom, or related notification systems.
• Working knowledge of common IT and AV connections and terminology, including HDMI, USB, Ethernet, patch cables, and related connectivity concepts.
• Comfortable using power tools such as hammer drills and impact drivers, with a basic understanding of construction terminology, hardware, and installation materials.
• Strong organizational, time-management, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent, along with a coachable, adaptable, and collaborative approach to working with technicians, clients, and project teams.

Helpful But Not Required

• Extron certification or experience working with Extron equipment.
• Experience installing, configuring, or supporting public address, paging, intercom, bell/clock, mass notification, or other mass communications systems.
• Experience in commercial AV, education technology, structured cabling, low-voltage installation, computer deployment, or a related technical services environment.
