Magnolia Companies is seeking a Helper to join our Stormwater Department. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the construction field, gain hands-on experience, and build a career in stormwater management and drainage infrastructure.

The Stormwater Department focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of stormwater drainage systems. This position involves physical labor, including cleaning storm drainage structures, digging for drainage systems and manholes, shoveling wet material, and assisting with stormwater projects. The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and following the direction of foremen and experienced tradesmen.

Responsibilities

• Assist foremen and tradesmen with daily stormwater and drainage work 
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining storm drainage structures 
• Assist with stormwater drainage system installation and maintenance 
• Dig ditches and manholes as directed 
• Perform continuous shoveling of wet material 
• Load and unload materials, tools, and deliveries 
• Assist with jobsite cleanup and demolition 
• Perform flagging as directed 
• Assist with confined space work 
• Follow directions from foremen and tradesmen 
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment 
• Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures

• Willingness to learn and develop new skills 
• Ability to follow directions and demonstrate attention to detail 
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting, and shoveling 
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions 
• Ability to pass a Flagger written test; training will be provided 
• Ability to work in confined spaces as required 
• 2 years of construction experience preferred
