JOB SUMMARY: The Camp Services Coordinator supports the daily operation of Sag River Camp by providing guest services, billeting support, retail and coffee shop services, light housekeeping, inventory coordination, and occasional administrative assistance. The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality professional who takes pride in anticipating guest needs, maintaining high service standards, and contributing to a clean, organized, and positive remote camp environment.
Essential Functions:
Hospitality and Guest Services:
· Deliver consistently friendly, responsive, and professional service to camp guests and employees.
· Welcome arriving guests and assist them with accommodations, camp amenities, and general questions.
· Anticipate and respond promptly to guest needs, concerns, and special requests.
· Help ensure guest rooms, common areas, the coffee shop, and the commissary meet established hospitality and presentation standards.
· Communicate guest feedback and operational concerns to camp management.
· Promote a positive camp experience through professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Coffee Shop and Commissary Operations:
· Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other menu items in a friendly and efficient manner.
· Operate point-of-sale equipment and accurately process electronic transactions.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee shop and commissary.
· Monitor product levels and order food, beverages, retail merchandise, and operating supplies.
· Receive deliveries, verify quantities, rotate stock, and properly store inventory.
· Conduct periodic inventory counts and help minimize shortages, waste, and expired products.
· Ensure pricing, displays, and product availability are maintained.
Billeting:
· Assist with room assignments, reservations, check-ins, checkouts, and room-status tracking as needed.
· Maintain accurate occupancy records and communicate room availability to camp management.
· Prepare rooms for incoming guests and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance personnel as needed.
· Respond professionally and promptly to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
· Assist with issuing and tracking room keys or access credentials.
Housekeeping Support:
· Perform light housekeeping duties in guest rooms, common areas, offices, and retail spaces.
· Make beds, replace linens and towels, empty trash, restock supplies, and clean surfaces as needed.
· Help maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly common areas.
· Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged property to the Camp Manager.
Administrative Support:
· Answer phones, respond to routine emails, prepare correspondence, and organize records.
· Assist with data entry, filing, scheduling, supply orders, and document preparation.
· Maintain accurate records related to billeting, inventory, sales, and other camp activities.
· Protect confidential employee, guest, and company information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
· Experience configuring and operating a point-of-sale system and accurately processing customer transactions.
· Experience with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking,
· Demonstrated strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Previous barista experience, including preparing coffee and espresso-based beverages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum five years of experience in a hospitality role, such as hotel operations, lodging, guest services, food and beverage service, remote camp services, or a related environment.
· NSTC (North Slope Training Cooperative) certified.
· Basic operational understanding of Innroad billeting system.
· Current Alaska Food Worker Card.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver’s license
