Summary

Are you a mission-driven leader ready to take on facility-wide responsibility for exceptional care in a Home and Community-Based Services setting? Envision Unlimited is seeking an Administrator to lead our residential care facility.

In this role, you will direct all day-to-day operations of the facility in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, lead facility staff and department directors, and ensure the highest degree of quality care for the individuals we serve. This is an opportunity to lead a newly integrated site and build strong, compliant, person-centered programs.

Essential Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

? Plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the day-to-day operations of the facility, its residential programs, and HCBS services, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

? Hold personal accountability for the facility's Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) license and ensure ongoing compliance with 481 Iowa Administrative Code licensing standards.

? Develop, implement, and review (at least annually) written policies and procedures governing the facility and its programs; propose updates to the employee handbook as needed.

? Establish and maintain policies that protect residents' rights to quality of life and care consistent with each resident's comprehensive assessment and person-centered service plan.

? Represent the facility with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and outside organizations; oversee responses to survey findings and plans of correction.

? Approve recruitment, hiring, promotion, transfer, and termination decisions for department directors, supervisors, and other staff.

? Review and approve written job descriptions and performance evaluations for facility staff positions.

? Provide overall direction and evaluation of department directors and facility staff; assure adequate staffing, scheduling, and coverage.

? Oversee facility budget, financial performance, and resource allocation to meet operational needs.

? Assure a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility and grounds; oversee safety, sanitation, and emergency preparedness programs.

? Serve as chair or member of facility committees (e.g., Quality Assurance, Infection Control) and oversee implementation of committee recommendations.

? Oversee employee orientation, training, and in-service programs to maintain a qualified, competent workforce.

? Maintain productive relationships with residents, families, case workers and service coordinators, the medical community, and the public.

? Prepare and present reports on facility operations.

? Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises the Assistant Administrator, department directors, and all facility staff.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education, Skills, and/or Experience

? High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

? Minimum of three (3) years of progressive supervisory or administrative experience in a residential care facility or HCBS setting

? Must meet Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) administrator qualifications under 481 Iowa Administrative Code 57.9, including one of the following: licensure as a nursing home administrator; completion of a DIA-approved one-year residential care facility administrator training program; or two years of supervised residential care facility experience with at least six months in an administrative capacity.

? Working knowledge of residential care facility and HCBS operational standards, reimbursement regulations, and applicable federal and state laws.

? Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop professional and non-professional staff.

? Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.

? Must be at least 21 years of age.

? Valid driver's license; ability to obtain and maintain a chauffeur's license if required.

? Successful completion of required background, abuse registry, and reference checks.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements include the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, stand, bend, and lift or assist with resident transfers; occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds; and the ability to assist in resident evacuations as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment described here is representative of that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Work occurs in office areas as well as throughout the facility and community homes, and may involve exposure to residents who are hostile or emotionally upset, infectious materials, and irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary Description
$85,000 - $105,000
