The Digital Marketing Intern works collaboratively as a Marketing team assistant in researching trends, topics, and concept development to grow and strengthen Portage Learning’s online presence. The position's primary function is to grow organic and paid traffic by assisting in implementing SEO strategies, paid ad optimization across Google/social media, and analyzing marketing data. This position will play a key role in assisting with campaign development and implementation.
What You’ll Invest In:
The Digital Marketing Intern carries out these responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting SEO research and advise on content creation and strategy.
- Identify keywords and phrases for landing pages & blog/site content to help rank higher within organic search.
- Analyze website data (traffic, rankings, etc.) and help determine actions to improve website performance.
- Reach out to relevant websites to gain backlinks through blogs, articles, and other types of content.
- Assist in monitoring digital advertising campaigns on Google, Facebook, Instagram, & LinkedIn
- Help analyze what ads are performing well and advise on adjustments to improve performance.
- Research and analyze performance, competition, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in monthly reports using website data and analytics.
- Stay up to date with algorithm trends and updates through research and professional development.
- Be an active participant in brainstorming meetings.
- Engage in weekly professional development sessions as part of the summer internship cohort, cultivating collaboration, strengthening skills, and encouraging continuous learning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in marketing, design, or a related field.
- Successful completion of a background check and current and/or ability to obtain the following clearances: Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of search engine optimization and algorithms
- Familiarity with Google analytics and marketing research data
- Familiarity with PPC and social media best practices
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Highly relational self-starter, detail-orientated, and able to work both independently and closely within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and increase professional knowledge of the latest trends, practices, programs, and applications evolving in SEO.

This is a summer internship, full-time position. Portage Learning typically operates Mondays to Fridays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Employee schedules may vary within those hours. All staff members must attend required meetings and training at the office in Chippewa Township, PA.

Travel:
This job rarely requires travel outside of the office. Travel would be primarily local during the business day, which may entail one or more overnight stays. Travel on one or more days of a weekend may occur occasionally.
