About the Role
HealthCentral is seeking a Senior Manager, Content Systems & Innovation to help build the systems, tools, and workflows that allow our content to work harder across audiences, products, platforms, and channels.
Reporting to the VP, Organic Growth, this role will help transform HealthCentral’s content into structured, reusable assets that can support websites, personalized experiences, user journeys, newsletters, tools, AI-driven experiences, and future products.
An immediate priority will be developing a smart, scalable structured-content ecosystem in Contentful. The broader mandate is to identify and implement better ways to create, structure, manage, reuse, optimize, and distribute content—including scalable tools, templates, AI-enabled workflows, and innovative solutions to persistent content and audience problems.
This is an ideal role for someone who combines deep content-systems expertise with a product mindset and enjoys turning complex content challenges into practical, scalable solutions.
What You’ll Own
Content Systems and Structured Content
- Help define and implement HealthCentral’s structured and modular content strategy.
- Lead the development of content models, schemas, taxonomy, metadata, tagging, and governance within Contentful.
- Transform traditional articles and other content into reusable assets that can support multiple products, channels, and experiences.
- Develop models for high-value healthcare information, including conditions, treatments, drugs, symptoms, side effects, FAQs, clinical information, and journey-based guidance.
- Partner with Editorial, Product, and Technology to ensure content structures support audience needs, business priorities, and future product capabilities.
- Establish standards that maintain content quality, accuracy, consistency, and usability at scale.
Tools, Templates, and Scalable Solutions
- Create tools, templates, frameworks, and repeatable processes that improve how teams plan, produce, structure, update, and distribute content.
- Identify friction, duplication, and inefficiency across content workflows and develop practical solutions.
- Evaluate and implement technologies that improve content operations, reuse, personalization, and performance.
- Develop systems that make high-quality content practices easier for teams to follow consistently.
- Help scale successful approaches across brands, audiences, formats, and channels.
AI and Workflow Innovation
- Identify and implement opportunities to use AI and automation for content tagging, transformation, updating, optimization, quality control, reuse, and distribution.
- Design workflows that combine automation with appropriate editorial, clinical, and governance oversight.
- Test emerging tools and approaches and determine where they can create meaningful operational or audience value.
- Develop practical solutions to content challenges in partnership with Editorial, Product, Technology, Analytics, and Clinical teams.
- Establish measurement and feedback loops to determine whether new tools and workflows are delivering results.
Content Reuse and Experience Enablement
- Help create the foundation for “create once, publish everywhere” across HealthCentral’s ecosystem.
- Partner with Product and Technology to connect structured content to personalization, user journeys, digital tools, and next-best-action experiences.
- Identify opportunities to reuse and adapt content across sites, newsletters, social platforms, multimedia, apps, and other audience experiences.
- Ensure content systems support both human-facing experiences and machine-readable applications.
- Contribute to broader content-growth, audience-development, and engagement initiatives.
Governance and Cross-Functional Leadership
- Establish clear content-system standards, documentation, governance, and quality controls.
- Serve as a strategic connector among Content, Product, Technology, Analytics, Clinical, and Revenue teams.
- Translate editorial and audience needs into clear system and workflow requirements.
- Recommend and help prioritize content-system investments based on audience value, operational impact, scalability, and business opportunity.
- Build organizational understanding of structured content and its role in discovery, personalization, efficiency, and growth.

- 7+ years of experience in content strategy, content systems, content operations, digital product, content design, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing or operating structured and modular content systems within a modern CMS; Contentful experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of content modeling, taxonomy, metadata, tagging, governance, and reusable content.
- Experience creating scalable tools, templates, workflows, or operational frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems and develop practical, innovative solutions.
- Experience incorporating AI, automation, or emerging technologies into content workflows.
- Strong product mindset and experience connecting content systems to audience experiences and business outcomes.
- Ability to translate editorial and audience needs into functional system requirements.
- Strong cross-functional experience working with Editorial, Product, Technology, Analytics, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in healthcare, regulated content, or a high-trust information environment is preferred.
