Job Description: 

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Customer, Operations department, and Professional Drivers to provide guidance of shipments from customer acceptance through pick up to ultimate delivery of product.  The Operations Coordinator assists both Customer and Professional Drivers, providing a positive experience for all involved.


Responsibilities:  

  • Accepts and processes Customer requirements and provides accurate documentation of shipments for Customers review
  • Schedules and dispatches the Professional teams
  • Communicates and coordinates shipments with Customers from start to finish, providing any follow up requirements requested
  • Navigates Professional Drivers through Customer procedures at Facilities both Shipper and Receiver
  • Navigate Professional Drivers through break downs and recoveries
  • Makes delivery appointments as required verbally or web based
  • Answer scheduling questions as required
  • Coordinate Canadian shipments and collaborate with customs brokers
  • Schedule and coordinate Professional Drivers time off requests to ensure coverage
  • Maintain Teams Over the Road and Available work days throughout the year
  • Be present during designated hours to address business requirements and manage telephone responsibilities
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Associates degree in Transportation and Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, preferred
  • 3-5 years of military and/or transportation experience, preferred
  • Capable of acquiring a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sensitive to corporate culture, organizational needs, and the public image
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate with all departments within the organization
  • Strong decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize when necessary while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations regarding the Transportation Industry and FMCSA Hours of Service guidelines, recommended
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work without supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, navigate, and work across multiple systems, applications, and platforms

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have any direct reports
