Job Summary

Green Sustainable Solutions (GSS) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support automated bulk material handling and packaging facilities in our organization.

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving maintenance processes. The facility utilizes advanced material handling equipment, pneumatic conveying systems, blowers, silos, dryers, automated bagging equipment, conveyors, and robotic palletizing systems.

The Maintenance Technician will lead a small maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure safe, efficient production. The ideal candidate has minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, packaging, bulk material handling, packaging, food processing, chemical processing, or similar industrial environments.

Requirements

  

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Maintain      and repair of automated material handling, conveying, and packaging      equipment. 
  • Perform      preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment      and facility systems. 
  • Troubleshoot      mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues to      minimize downtime. 
  • Maintain      pneumatic conveying systems, blowers, rotary valves, airlocks, vacuum      systems, dust collection systems, and associated piping. 
  • Troubleshoot      and repair storage silos, material transfer equipment, and industrial      dryers. 
  • Maintain      automated bagging equipment, conveyor systems, check weighers, sealing      equipment, pallet conveyors, and robotic palletizing systems. 
  • Troubleshoot      motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, VFDs, sensors, photo eyes, limit      switches, encoders, relays, and industrial electrical control systems. 
  • Diagnosed      faults with PLC-controlled equipment
  • Perform      root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement      corrective actions. 
  • Support      equipment installation, upgrades, commissioning, and continuous      improvement projects. 

  

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Coordinate      maintenance activities with Operations to minimize downtime. 
  • Assist      in developing preventive maintenance schedules and reliability improvement      initiatives. 

  

Fabrication & Shop Work

  • Perform      welding, fabrication, cutting, drilling, grinding, and machining as      required. 
  • Fabricate      brackets, guards, supports, and replacement components when necessary. 
  • Safely      operate fabrication equipment and standard machine shop tools. 

  

Minimum Qualifications

  • High      school diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum      5 years of industrial maintenance experience in automated      manufacturing, packaging, bulk material handling, food processing,      chemical processing, or similar industrial environment. 
  • Strong      mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 
  • Experience      preferred: 
    • Automated       packaging equipment 
    • Pneumatic       conveying systems 
    • Industrial       blowers and vacuum systems 
    • Conveyors       
    • Storage       silos 
    • Industrial       dryers 
    • Motors,       pumps, and gearboxes 
  • Experience      troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred). 
  • Working      knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, sensors, safety circuits, and      industrial electrical systems. 
  • Ability      to read blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical      manuals. 
  • Experience      in performing preventive and predictive maintenance. 
  • Strong      leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability      to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.
Salary Description
$25-$35 per hour
