General Foreman

Location: Breckenridge, CO

Position Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt

Compensation: $35.00 - $50.00 (DOE)

As our General Foreman, you will be the driving force behind our commercial construction projects in the field; translating plans into progress and leading crews with purpose, precision, and pride. You will be the backbone of our jobsites, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity move forward together, one well-executed task at a time.

This role is perfect for a seasoned construction leader who is equal parts field expert, team builder, and problem solver. You will take ownership of field operations across the project, from coordinating foremen, labor crews, and subcontractors to managing site logistics, safety compliance, quality control, and daily production. Partnering closely with the Construction Superintendent(s), you will plan and execute work, maintain schedules, resolve field issues, and ensure contract drawings, specifications, and company standards are consistently implemented.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, mentor, and hold accountable site foremen, hourly personnel, and field staff
• Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and conduct
• Provide day-to-day direction while maintaining clear lines of responsibility
• Act as a primary jobsite safety leader and partner with Superintendents to implement the company safety program
• Ensure front-line crews understand and follow safe work practices
• Immediately address potentially unsafe conditions
• Assist with daily and short-term planning: labor allocation, sequencing, access, logistics, deliveries, equipment, and temporary facilities
• Participate in look-ahead scheduling and daily planning; identify constraints before they impact production
• Coordinate work among crews and subcontractors to maintain efficient workflow and accountability
• Manage site logistics and housekeeping: access, staging, material storage, temporary protection, snow removal, traffic control
• Responsible for project site SWMP compliance, including BMP installation, maintenance, and inspection coordination
• Lead field quality control activities and verify work is installed per contract documents and approved details
• Coordinate inspections with design team, consultants, testing agencies, and AHJs; drive items to documented closure
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to identify discrepancies and constructability concerns before work is installed
• Monitor field production and workmanship; communicate schedule or staffing concerns and assist with recovery plans
• Coordinate procurement, tracking, staging, and inventory of materials, tools, rentals, and equipment
• Lead and participate in project closeout: punchlist completion, turnover, deficiencies, and warranty work
• Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism with guests, vendors, owners, subcontractors, and employees

• Minimum of ten years of craft and/or supervisory experience in commercial construction
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Foreman or comparable field leadership role, including responsibility for multiple crews, work areas, or subcontractor coordination
• Demonstrated ability to perform all responsibilities of a Construction Foreman and successfully lead multiple crews, foremen, and work areas
• Thorough understanding of commercial construction means and methods, sequencing, site logistics, plans, specifications, and field coordination
• Proven ability to lead by example, set clear expectations, delegate work, coach personnel, and hold teams accountable
• Strong planning skills with the ability to anticipate constraints and sequence activities effectively
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly before a group and coordinate with superintendents, project management, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel
• Ability to take initiative and perform tasks without being asked, with a high degree of ownership and follow-through
• Strong conflict-resolution skills and sound judgment on when to elevate issues to the Superintendent
• Ability to approach difficult situations tactfully and remain calm under pressure
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
• Ability to prepare clear field reports, documentation, and written communications
• Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools
• Ability to observe safety procedures and immediately address potentially unsafe conditions
• High regard for safety, quality, productivity, and professional conduct
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction plans, specifications, documents, reports, and safety information in English
• Ability to clearly communicate work direction to field personnel in English
• Strong construction-related mathematical skills, including measurements, quantities, layout dimensions, and basic production calculations
• Basic computer, iPad, and construction software skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar)
• Valid US driver license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work at or relocate to project locations as business needs require
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing, walking, and traversing active construction sites; frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching overhead, climbing, and balancing; frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving up to 50 pounds; and wearing required PPE for extended periods
• Ability to work in outdoor mountain conditions, including cold, heat, snow, ice, wind, rain, high altitude, and direct sun

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish
• First Aid, CPR, and OSHA training
• Current or prior certifications in Traffic Control, forklift operation, and boom lift operation
• Experience with project site SWMP compliance and BMP installation, maintenance, and inspection coordination
• Experience leading project closeout activities, including punchlist completion, turnover, and warranty work
• Demonstrated ability to build morale, contribute to a positive team spirit, and share knowledge to develop others
