As a Maintenance Supervisor at the Valpak Clipp Manufacturing Center, you'll lead and develop a team of Industrial Maintenance Technicians while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on leadership role working nights 6:00pm-2:00am for someone who brings strong mechanical and electrical knowledge along with the ability to coach technicians, prioritize maintenance work, manage staffing, and keep a fast-paced manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

Your day may include prioritizing maintenance work, coordinating technician schedules, responding to equipment breakdowns, assisting with complex mechanical or electrical troubleshooting, reviewing preventative maintenance activities, auditing work orders, coaching technicians, and communicating equipment status with production leadership across shifts.

You'll balance people leadership with hands-on technical support, helping your team solve difficult problems while building the skills and processes needed to improve equipment reliability over the long term.

What You'll Do

• Supervise, coach, and develop Industrial Maintenance Technicians responsible for maintaining automated production equipment.
• Plan and coordinate staffing and maintenance schedules to support production requirements and minimize equipment downtime.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues.
• Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repairs when additional technical support is needed.
• Prioritize breakdown response and planned maintenance activities based on safety, production needs, and business impact.
• Coordinate with production leaders and other shifts to ensure clear communication of equipment status, work in progress, and scheduled repairs.
• Oversee preventative maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring failures.
• Review and audit SAP maintenance work orders to ensure accurate and consistent documentation.
• Assess team capabilities, identify technical skill gaps, and develop training plans for maintenance employees.
• Coordinate equipment-specific technical training to build internal expertise and reduce reliance on outside and OEM vendors.
• Support employee development through coaching, feedback, recognition, performance management, and career progression.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting maintenance team members.
• Develop and administer technical assessments used in internal and external maintenance hiring.
• Monitor maintenance performance using audits, metrics, scorecards, and other measures of equipment and team performance.
• Partner with the Maintenance Manager on continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance strategy.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other applicable plant safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of related industrial maintenance experience, including at least two years in a supervisory, lead, or advanced industrial maintenance technician role.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and maintenance practices.
• Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, diagrams, and other technical documentation.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); working knowledge of SAP preferred.
• General proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands-on leadership position in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Candidates must be able to:

• Work around highly automated industrial equipment and moving machinery.
• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Occasionally work at heights up to 30 feet using ladders, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
• Move throughout the manufacturing facility to respond to equipment and team needs.
• Work in a manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required.
• Be available to support maintenance and production needs outside the regular schedule when necessary
