Join 686 as we launch a seasonal pop-up shop in Downtown Manhattan Beach where customers will discover a curated 686 experience through our technical outerwear and everyday apparel built for life on and off the mountain.

We’re looking for friendly, dependable Sales Associates who enjoy connecting with people, learning about products and keeping a store looking its best. You’ll work with the Store Manager and a small team to create a welcoming shopping experience. 

***This is a seasonal, part-time position (20 hours per week) running from approximately 10/7/2026-2/14/2027.  Weekend and holiday availability required.***

What you will do

· Welcome customers, ask thoughtful questions and help them find the right products and fit.

· Learn and explain product features, materials and intended uses.

· Support store sales goals through attentive service and relevant product recommendations.

· Process purchases, returns and exchanges accurately using Shopify POS.

· Keep merchandise folded, sized, stocked and presented to brand standards.

· Help receive deliveries, organize inventory, and replenish the sales floor.

· Maintain tidy fitting rooms, checkout, and shared staff areas.

· Follow store procedures for security, transactions and inventory handling.

· Support in-store events and promotions.

· Complete opening and closing tasks as trained and assigned, and communicate customer or operational concerns to the Store Manager.

What you bring

· Customer service or retail experience preferred; apparel experience is a plus.

· A friendly, approachable manner, and willingness to learn.

· Reliability, attention to detail, and comfort taking initiative.

· Interest in snowboarding, skiing, apparel or outdoor culture.

· Comfort learning a POS system and handling customer transactions.

· Availability throughout the seasonal engagement, including weekends and key holiday shopping periods.

· Ability to work independently after training, with manager support available.

This is an active retail role involving standing, walking, reaching and moving merchandise, with reasonable accommodation as needed. 

Shifts may include time before or after public store hours of 10 a.m.–6 p.m, Sunday - Saturday.
