Description

This position requires working in the Indianapolis office at least three days per week, with the potential for additional in-office days as needed.


POSITION OBJECTIVE/JOB SUMMARY:

Work directly with the Administrator of Service Leadership Programs (SLP) Education and Training to design, manage, implement, and evaluate youth protection and SLP training initiatives within Kiwanis International’s learning ecosystem. This role will support the expansion and optimization of our online training portfolio across all five SLP program lines, including course development, LMS configuration, user management, reporting, and data integrity.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include coordinating digital learning projects, maintaining training workflows within the learning management system, monitoring course completion analytics, and ensuring training content aligns with organizational and program standards. This position also collaborates across departments to launch new initiatives, campaigns, and projects that strengthen engagement and drive membership growth across all club lines.


Online Education and Training (50%)

  • Serve as a primary staff providing oversight and technical support of online training courses, data integrity with Kiwanis Engage interface and LMS configuration. Currently, these courses include the Global Leadership Certificate, SLP advisor and chaperone youth protection and other SLP trainings on multiple learning management systems. Other education offerings may be developed in the future.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating with SLP program subject matter experts, testing and launching online courses and developing related promotional communications, such as social media and electronic newsletter announcements.
  • Serve as primary staff member responsible for designing evaluation surveys, managing feedback workflows and generating qualitative and quantitative training and course completion data reports to assess training effectiveness and learner engagement.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails related to training access, LMS navigation, course completion, and general program inquiries.

Live Education and Training (10%)

  • Assist as part of a team in developing and delivering training content and materials for live online and in-person education, including webinars, seminars, and convention workshops.
  • Facilitate and deliver youth protection and SLP membership development training in both virtual and in-person formats.
  • Collaborate with communication staff to maintain and update youth protection and Key Leader webpages including frequently asked questions, education and training messaging, and materials for education initiatives for website.
  • Support additional program education offerings as needed.

Key Leader Support (35%)

  • Communicate with all Key Leader event stakeholders (Kiwanis volunteers, chairs, and facilitators) to coordinate and align schedules, program guidelines, and processing contracts.
  • Use project management tools to update activity timelines and workflow ensuring all tasks remain on schedule.
  • Process, verify and track event-related payments and financial documentation in SharePoint.
  • Manage budget, training materials inventory and prepare mailings to event hosts.
  • Track, input, and review event evaluations, and prepare annual reports summarizing data and findings.

Special Projects Support (5%)

  • Brainstorm and collaborate on new initiatives designed to grow membership and enhance value to current members.
  • Support marketing and promotional campaigns for new and existing projects.

Other Functions:

  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Schedule, participate or lead project meetings as needed to accomplish timely goals.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as related to the department’s projects.
  • Provide project and training assessments and improvement strategies.
  • Adhere to all SLP programs and Kiwanis International branding and style guideline when developing content and promotional messages.
  • Participate in Kiwanis International cyber security and employee development training
  • Work with learners, Kiwanis International technology staff, LMS vendors and department staff to identify and resolve online course issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams within the department and Kiwanis International.
  • Attend and support department events, programs, and conferences.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, trained for, and qualified to do.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, education, instructional design, educational technology, non-profit leadership, communications, or equivalent.

Required experience:

  • 3 years of experience in program development and project management Training or 1 year experience with learning management systems, such as Crowd Wisdom, PathLMS or Moodle
  • Training or 1 year experience with on-line course authoring tools, such as Articulate 360 or Canva
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and Teams
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and training
  • Experience working in a multitask environment with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with youth and adult volunteers

Required skills:

  • Exhibits advanced presentation and facilitation capabilities, including expert use of PowerPoint for instructional delivery
  • Possesses strong and professional public speaking skills suitable for diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in youth programs, youth centered project or working with youth in a training environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Google suite
  • Proficient in creating feedback surveys using Cognito, Google forms, Survey Monkey or other tools
  • Analyze, verify and summarize course and participation data
  • Ability to apply research to practice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with team members and Kiwanis/SLP program members
  • Kiwanis Family or service club experience
  • Ability to apply research to practice
  • Multilingual a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Some evening and weekend work required for special program events
  • Some domestic travel may be required (1-2 times per year)
  • Available to work remotely and in the office when requested
  • Daily use of desktop or laptop PC
  • Work in close proximity to coworkers
  • Required to lift boxes (no more than 25 lbs.) and stand/sit for extended periods at events
