Summary of Job: The Environmental Health & Safety Manager provides strategic direction and oversight for environmental health and safety, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention. Promotes discipline, accountability, and best practices to improve safety, cost performance, compliance, and employee relations. The EHS Manager will work in conjunction with Dynabrade’s leadership team to ensure the health and safety of all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Regular tasks performed and outcomes to be accomplished on the job. Other duties may be assigned.

· Provide strategic leadership for health and safety, workers’ compensation, loss control, and environmental matters.

· Recommend EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention objectives; develop short- and long-term plans, programs, and supporting budgets; and direct their execution.

· Develop, implement, and oversee effective EHS management systems companywide.

· Collaborate with other departments to define and fulfill shared responsibilities.

· Lead cost-reduction and continuous-improvement initiatives for EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention.

· Represent Dynabrade Group publicly on EHS, workers’ compensation, and loss prevention matters.

· Lead EHS and risk management due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures.

· Maintain benchmarking practices that identify and support companywide adoption of best methods.

· Develop and maintain an audit function to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

· Ensure manufacturing equipment is properly installed and in safe working order.

· Ensure effective regulatory review and oversight.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field required. 

· CSP and/or CIH preferred 

· Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive EHS experience. 

· OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA Outreach trainer certification preferable. 

· Detailed communicator, experience training, with crisis and conflict management skills.

· Common knowledge and experience with safety equipment and practices preferred.

· Confident using Microsoft programs, internet, and database systems. 

· Local travel to subsidiaries for meetings, audits, training, up to 25%

· Travel for periodic personal growth with training, conferences or seminars 5%

· Manufacturing experience required.

Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking or standing on the manufacturing shop floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Use of ear, eye and foot protection is required.
