REPORTS TO/TERM:

  • GEO Foundation –Accounting Officer
  • Full Time

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

The Accounting & Budget Manager will be required to perform the following:

  • Work harmoniously as a valued accounting team member to provide general accounting services including but not limited to:
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Month end closings of Louisiana schools
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation with supporting schedules
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and Intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare fixed assets schedule and record depreciation
  • Assistance with annual audit schedules
  • Coordinate with Accounting Officer and Louisiana school leaders to develop and monitor annual operating budgets for all schools.
  • Complete quarterly, semi-annual, and annual LDOE reporting
  • Perform other duties as requested by team leader

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years’ experience working in an accounting position
  • Experience in an educational setting
  • Experience with GAAP and governmental accounting
  • Experience with federal grants
