PRN Imaging X-Ray Tech

12-hour shifts 

Base Pay $18.49 – $25.00 / hour DOE

Primary Focus: 

Responsible for providing safe, courteous and efficient patient care. Performs all routine radiographic procedures to produce diagnostic images.

Essential Functions: 

• Prepare, supply and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
• Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.
• Integrates previous imaging studies and patient history and medical records to optimize exam.
• Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary. 
• Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination.  
• Demonstrates ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise making decisions to appropriately resolve problems.
• Performs x-ray examinations applying appropriate infection control and radiation  safety measures.
• Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self-patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.
• Ability to work with basic office equipment such as telephones, copier, facsimiles, computers, etc.
• Keeps an accurate and complete patient record in EMR and PACS.
• Participates in on-call scheduling and must be able to respond within 20 minutes and can not consume anything that might impair focus or function (whether prescription or non-prescription). Is responsible for keeping aware of the updated on-call schedule 
• Adheres to the quality plan and supports and participates in Quality Assurance.
• Performs EKG’s as requested per physician or Allied Health Professional orders.
• Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience and license/certification/registration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Schedule: 

Imaging X-Ray Technicians are required to be available for 12 Hour Shifts plus scheduled On-Call shifts as applicable.

Required Education and Certification:

* Registered Technician with the State of Washington.

*  Minimum of 80 hours of in-house training and completion of X-Ray Technology Seminar (48 hrs.)

*  Current BLS upon hire and duration of employment

* Documentation of 7 hours AIDS training
