Position Title:  Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Maintenance, Facilities, and Safety Manager - Ohio

General Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and optimizing DECKED facilities, production machinery, and automated equipment. This role requires an electro-mechanical background capable of reading electrical schematics, troubleshooting complex industrial systems (including PLCs and automated controls), and executing predictive and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical diagnostic skills, safety-first operational discipline, and the ability to minimize downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  

Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing machinery, high-voltage electrical circuits, mechanical drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics to minimize operational downtime. 
• Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and system failures to minimize downtime and prevent production disruptions. Including, interpreting and working directly from electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals during installation, maintenance, and teardowns. 
• Execute scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance routines across production machinery, automation cells, and facility infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing). 
• Conduct daily inspections of machinery, automated lines, and facilities; implement lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and adhere strictly to OSHA and internal safety protocols. 
• Respond to and resolve maintenance requests and emergency repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including painting, drywall, and plumbing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electricity, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical trade certification preferred. 
• At least 3-5 years of experience in machine and facilities maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven proficiency reading electrical schematics and ladder logic. Solid working knowledge of 480V 3-phase power, control transformers, relays, VFDs, photoelectric/inductive sensors, and safety interlocks. 
• The ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, operational, and safety issues with equipment and machinery. 
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC I/O modules and industrial control circuits (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems). 
• Hands-on experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa) including recovery, mechanical alignment, or basic program manipulation is a plus.
• Work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic.
