Essential Functions

  • Dismantle, move, assemble, install, modify, and repair industrial machinery, aerospace tooling, and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, engineering drawings, or verbal instructions.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Safely move machinery, tooling, and equipment using overhead cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors, tram rails, fixtures, and other industrial systems using hand and power tools.
  • Construct equipment foundations and perform machine alignment to ensure proper operation and accuracy.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on machinery, tooling, and related equipment.
  • Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication equipment to manufacture, modify, or rework parts and tooling.
  • Maintain and repair precision jigs, molds, fixtures, and lay-up tools used in aircraft manufacturing.
  • Perform root-cause analysis in support of equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leaders, customers, other skilled trades, and management to troubleshoot equipment problems and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Rework, repair, and maintain tools made from a variety of materials.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance, including:
    • Replacing machine filters
    • Replacing standard machine and equipment light bulbs
    • Maintaining lubrication and coolant levels
    • Performing basic preventative maintenance activities
  • Repair, modify, and build lay-up tools according to engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • Use precision measurement and inspection equipment, including laser tracking systems, as required.
  • Read and interpret GD&T drawings, blueprints, engineering specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tooling maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention requirements.
  • Follow all applicable OSHA ,facility safety and quality requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, engineering, and production information.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace tooling, precision machining, industrial machinery maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • High school diploma/GED or successful completion of a WorkKeys Assessment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience working with precision tooling, fixtures, molds, jigs, or similar equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and industrial machinery.
  • Experience operating or working around overhead gantry cranes and material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to use precision measurement and inspection equipment, including laser trackers.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on mechanical and tooling-related issues.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to co-workers, engineering, management, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must be able to meet U.S. Person requirements for ITAR compliance.
