We are seeking a Floral Designer to join our team in Long Island City, NY. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Job Responsibilities:

• Consistently create innovative, high-quality floral designs using color, floral materials, vessels, and accent materials while meeting established Winston Flowers design styles and cost-of-goods standards.
• Develop and apply a working knowledge of Winston Flowers’ core design styles to create gift, specialty, and event designs that reflect established standards and aesthetics.
• Work directly with clients and account contacts to understand their preferences, needs, and overall design vision, and translate those conversations into thoughtful, elevated floral designs.
• Visit client accounts and event sites to discuss design concepts, review spaces, understand the client’s vision, and provide creative recommendations.
• Interpret client preferences for custom and event orders and collaborate with internal teams to bring design concepts to execution.
• Participate in event production and on-site design, serving as a client-facing representative of Winston Flowers throughout the design and production process.
• Apply proper flower handling and care techniques while maintaining production standards and cost-of-goods requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Candidate Profile:

• Three years of hands-on custom floral design experience in a high-volume luxury floral shop or design studio is required 
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team-oriented environment
• Proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs 
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation

• Flexible work schedule required
• Saturdays are required
• Peak business periods will require extended workdays and work weeks 
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
