If you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, you might find more than a job here.
At First Resources, Direct Care Professionals support people with disabilities in living the lives they want to live—whether that means helping with daily routines, building independence, getting involved in the community, or simply being someone they can count on.
And according to the people who already do this work, the most rewarding part is the people.
“I love all my clients.”
“This job is one of the most rewarding things I have done.”
“You will feel valued here.”
What you’ll do
As a Direct Care Professional, you'll work directly with the people we serve and help them:
- Build independence and confidence
- Participate in their community
- Reach personal goals
- Navigate everyday activities and routines
- Develop skills and maintain independence
- Enjoy meaningful relationships and experiences
- Live as independently and fully as possible
This is hands-on, people-centered work. There is more to the job than a list of tasks. You’re getting to know the person, learning what matters to them, and helping them move toward the life they want.
What our employees say they value
Our employees consistently tell us they appreciate:
Meaningful work.
You can see the difference you make in someone's life.
Supportive people.
Employees describe their coworkers and supervisors as kind, patient, professional, and willing to help.
Being valued.
At FRC, your effort and perspective matter.
Opportunities to grow.
Many employees have grown their skills, taken on new responsibilities, or used the experience as a foundation for a career in healthcare or human services.
A strong mission.
We care deeply about the people we serve—and that care shows up in the way we do our work.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
Some of our employees came to FRC with years of experience. Others came because they wanted to try something new, gain experience, or build a career.
What matters most is that you care about people, are willing to learn, and are ready to show up for them.
We'll help you learn the rest.
If helping people is the kind of work that gives you a sense of purpose, we'd love to meet you.
