Hill International Trucks, the Tri-State area’s largest medium- and heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership, is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Parts Counter Salesperson to join our afternoon shift team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys trucks, solving problems, working with customers, and being part of a team that keeps our customers’ equipment moving.
Heavy-duty truck parts experience is a plus, but it is not the only way to qualify.
If you have automotive parts, equipment, mechanical, warehouse, retail parts, or customer-service experience — along with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn — we want to talk with you. What You’ll Do
As an Afternoon Shift Parts Counter Salesperson, you will work directly with our customers, technicians, service department, and other members of the parts team to make sure the correct parts are identified, sold, ordered, and delivered efficiently.
- Assist retail customers and our service technicians in identifying and selecting the correct parts.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service at the counter and over the phone.
- Look up parts, provide pricing, and help customers identify related or companion parts they may need.
- Pull and fill parts orders from inventory.
- Locate out-of-stock parts and place emergency or special orders when necessary.
- Follow up on backordered and special-order parts.
- Notify customers and service personnel when ordered parts arrive.
- Make sure parts supplied to service repairs are properly billed to the repair order.
- Process customer payments, returns, credits, and charge transactions according to company procedures.
- Assist with inventory replenishment and maintaining an organized parts department.
- Participate in training and stay current on new products and product updates.
- Work closely with the parts and service teams to provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–Midnight
One Saturday per month, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation
- $18–$22 per hour, based on experience.
- Monthly bonus opportunity based on total monthly sales.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to use or learn parts department computer systems and vendor catalogs.
- Ability to use basic mechanical tools such as crimpers, cutters, pliers, wrenches, and tape measures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, reach, and twist.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
