Senior Dental Front Office Coordinator
Full-Time | 5 Days per Week | $20 per Hour + Performance Bonus
Position Summary:
The Senior Dental Front Office Coordinator is an experienced member of the Business Team who takes ownership of the day-to-day business operations surrounding assigned doctors and their schedules.
This position is designed for someone with strong dental or medical front-office experience who is ready for increased responsibility and accountability. The Senior Coordinator works closely with assigned doctors, manages multiple doctor schedules, supports the patient financial experience, and helps maintain an organized and productive front office.
Key Responsibilities:
Doctor Schedule Ownership
- Own and manage a minimum of two doctor schedules.
- Work closely with assigned doctors as part of their team/pod.
- Maintain productive schedules and actively work to keep doctors on goal.
- Identify schedule concerns, openings, and opportunities and take action to address them.
- Anticipate scheduling needs and solve problems before they require Office Manager involvement.
- Communicate directly with doctors regarding schedule needs, concerns, and opportunities.
Patient & Financial Experience
- Manage patient checkout accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Review patient accounts and understand balances, insurance estimates, and payment expectations.
- Confidently explain treatment costs, account balances, and financial responsibilities to patients and parents.
- Handle difficult financial conversations professionally and directly.
- Address upset or frustrated patients and parents while remaining calm and solution-focused.
- Escalate concerns appropriately when additional support is necessary.
Front Office Operations
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and professional front office.
- Run organized and productive morning huddles.
- Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them.
- Communicate effectively with clinical teams, doctors, and other Business Team members.
- Remain organized and maintain priorities during high-volume or high-pressure periods.
- Support overall patient flow and office productivity.
Team Support
- Serve as a resource for newer or less experienced Business Team members.
- Model strong communication, accountability, organization, and professionalism.
- Help reinforce established Business Team processes and expectations.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Previous dental or medical front-office experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with scheduling, patient accounts, insurance, treatment finances, or similar responsibilities preferred.
- Comfortable discussing money, balances, treatment costs, and payment expectations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with doctors and a variety of personalities.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable being held accountable for measurable results.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to recognize and address problems independently.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, five-day-per-week position. Because our offices operate extended hours, schedule flexibility is required.
